RVS Content Creation Plan
Dear Friends,
In this article, I would like to share our current content creation plan.
Please make sure to read the warnings and disclaimers below, as this plan, and any subscriber feedback or requests, are not legally binding on RVS, LLC.
With these disclaimers out of the way, let’s take a look at the plan,
Warning and Disclaimer: Creation and uploading of new content is not included as part of your library subscription. Your subscription only grants you access to existing content that has already been uploaded, subject to terms of use. Therefore, this content production and uploading plan is not binding on RVS, LLC. This plan is merely indicative – not a promise or guarantee – that new content may be uploaded along the lines of the plan indicated here. Furthermore, this content production and uploading plan is subject to change or deletion at any time, at our sole discretion.
The Plan
Our library is relatively new, and it will take some time for us to add content. Please review our Early Access and Growing Pains Article for more details.
We are currently planning to work in phases as follows;
Phase 0. Subscriber Questions
As we get questions through our Library Help Desk, we will try to prioritize answering them by writing and sharing articles about the topics mentioned. If you have a question, feel free to submit it, and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
On days when we have finished answering subscriber questions, we will proceed to focus on our generic article plan – Phases 1 through 6 as follows:
Phase 1. Content Organization and Framing
Phase 1 is focused on setting up our “hub and spoke” network of pages that will serve as the main navigation system for our content. These pages will all start off blank, and will fill up with links to category specific content over time.
Phase 1 is mostly complete, and you can now access this “hub and spoke” system through our main library catalog page.
Phase 2. Introduction and Preliminary Content
In phase 2 we will focus on creating introductory and preliminary content. While this content may not be the most exciting, it will help you navigate our library and take better advantage of your subscription.
We are currently actively working on this phase.
Article categories include:
a) Subscriber Orientation – As a new subscriber to our website, these articles will help you find your way around our website, and get off to a good start learning.
b) Theory of Education – In your pursuit of knowledge about finance and economics, these articles will share ideas, tips, tools, and tricks that may help you “learn how to learn” more effectively – so that you can absorb your target content and skills more quickly and effectively.
c) Library Science and Craft of Writing – These articles are reference documents for our team – about how to organize our content, and how to write and edit our articles well. They are not directly related to our main financial literacy content, but you may still find these articles helpful and interesting for your own pursuits.
Phase 3. Core Content
In Phase 3 we will focus on what we consider “core content”.
Core content consists of the following two categories:
a) Goal Theory and Goal Setting – Learning how to set effective financial, business, and investing goals is one of the most important skills and practices in all of finance. There is almost no point in learning anything about finance if you can’t set financial goals for yourself, so we will focus on this topic first.
b) Action Plans and Planning – Once you have a series of financial goals in mind, this next category of articles will help you think about how to actually accomplish those goals. The three main buckets we will consider are careers, investing, and entrepreneurship.
Phase 4. Training Modules
After you have set some financial goals, and developed a series of action plans to achieve them, you should be able to identify knowledge and skill gaps that prevent you from achieving those goals and/or carrying out your action plans.
Therefore, in Phase 4 we will focus on uploading training modules about skills and information that we believe should be useful to you in your pursuit of financial goals and action plans.
These articles will cover topics like accounting, financial modeling, financial projections, outlines of different markets, and much more.
Phase 5. Reference and Serial Content
Our main priority is getting phases 2, 3, and 4 done. Once those phases are complete, we plan to move on to Phase 5. In this phase, we will focus on uploading reference and serial content that supplements our training modules and core content.
Articles in this category will include serial content, such as newsletters and briefings, as well as static reference materials, like collections of data, tables, maps, charts, calendars, dictionaries, glossaries, and any other reference content we think would be helpful.
Phase 6. Library Maintenance and Refinement
Once we reach phase 6, the majority of our content will have been uploaded, and our library will be “fully stocked”.
Therefore, in phase 6 we will focus on refining our library – adding, removing, editing, and optimizing our articles and article collections to best help our subscribers. At this time, we may decide to expand or limit the scope of our library – depending on user feedback and our strategic vision for the library.
Closing Remarks
Now that we’ve covered our tentative plans for content creation, you should have some idea as to what you might expect in the coming months and years,
In addition to this plan, subscribers are more than welcome to share their ideas and feedback about the direction you think the library’s content curation should take. This feedback will be taken into consideration, and will help us shape our library’s future. While we are not legally or contractually bound to implement content requests or suggestions, we still do hope to be as responsive as we can to any feedback from our subscribers.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to message us via our public contact page or our subscriber only library help desk.
All the best,
Ricardo Vollbrechthausen
